Oh cmon. Fermions man.
They answered everything.
Solidity in matter
Plasmonic clouds of fernionic condensates
Sheesh

Ya know...I was thinking of you when I posted that last one. The "science" ideas you came up with were so far left field they do not qualify as "real world".

The saw that any technology sufficiently advanced would be indistinguishable from magic to a primitive culture has been used to justify legitimizing science fiction. Bollocks. The writer thinks "I need a device which will allow such and such to happen so that the characters can do this, I will explain it with some science doubletalk." How does this differ from a show with a supernatural theme where the writer thinks "I need a spell which allows such and such to happen so the the characters can do this, I will explain it with some mystical doubletalk"? Short answer, it doesn't. The former is just using science for magic.

Re: Favorite scenes in LOST

Far left field?

You mean I would have hit a homerun!

Fermions DO cause solidity in matter

AND..
You CAN create quantum computation using condensates, even fermionic ones

https://arxiv.org/abs/quant-ph/0003137

PLUS, even RIGHT NOW, scientists are trying to upload CONSCIOUSNESS to computers.. a fermionic cloud would have been a GREAT explaination of how MIB became trapped

I'm telling ya.. fly ball maybe.. but still outta the park!

But hey. The island butt plug was a kind of magic

... as well as the Donkey Wheel, moving Island, magic lighthouse, magic cabin, magic temple water (forgot what that was about), and of course the magic of dropping acid with Richard Alpert, Lennon and the time travelling Dharma gang.

Re: Favorite scenes in LOST

Some great moments for sure mentioned already, hard to pick just one. Fun to remember the great parts vs the ending.

I still loved the scene where Locke let the clock wind down. The look on his face, the destruction, it was glorious.

And the mud fight between Kate and Juliette.

Now don't bring up that cabin, it's just gonna tick me off.

Wait, I thought this was a documentary, or reality TV or something. You mean they made the whole thing up!?

Yeah, watching the shock and then fear on Locke's face after his dogmatic insistence that he was right was once again shattered. lol

I loved every scene which showed off Kate's body. wow

Re: Favorite scenes in LOST

There are too many great scenes in LOST to select just one.

I loved the following:

- any scene with Locke. He remains my favourite character.
- the look on Locke's face when he sees his father in the "magic box"
- any scene with Hurley ("just pee on it, man!")
- Hurley driving the VW camper van
- any scene with Locke & Ben
- the look on Ben's face when he sees Flocke, raised from the dead
- the names Sawyer used for Hurley (staypuff was a good one, but there were many good ones!)
- many scenes with Mr Eko, shame they killed him off.

Favourite epi's are The Brigg and Ab Aeterno off the top of my head.

What a truly great show. I really miss it.

Kate in the airduct. OMG.

But other than that, i still cherish Kate and Ben's breakfast, the one where she put on handcuffs so she could have coffee.

And the Blast Door Map. That thing provided endless fun hereabouts.

I think my favorite episode is the very underappreciated I Do.
