I just rode that train a few days ago. It's a nice way to travel and a bargain if it happens to be going where you need to go. Unfortunately I think today they're substituting a bus for part of the route because of work on the track.

Yes in fact they are

He texted me earlier on his way and was like "they put us on a bus".

On our way to get him to station and figuring out whether he should get on a bus or what

Re: What's New/super legit maths forum

Morning.

Quiet here.

Had a great day in Salem yesterday. It was crazy crowded but that was expected. We had a nice lunch on the water, visited the House of Seven Gables, bought chocolate at the oldest candy store in the country (somehow I spent $17 on chocolate? There was a line just to get in!), and we went to the Witch Trial Memorial and Old Burying Point.

Was so great to see my older son. Although he looked exhausted, they are definitely staying up too late, but what can I say, I did the same thing. But then instead of sleeping in on the weekends, he got up to watch a 7:30 am Chelsea soccer game Sat. and then had to get up early to catch the train (bus) to us Sun.

Also, they got a roommate, so no longer two kids in a big triple. Jury is still out on how this will work out.

*talks to self, watches tumbleweeds*

So I set up a dr. appt for my kid and the pediatrician's last name is Tierney (for the referral) and I kept saying "Maura Tierney" and the specialist can't find it.

That's an actress

Not our dr.

Wrong first name.

But she was on ER. That's why you were confused.

Was the candy any good? Do they make their own?

New roommate mid-semester? Sounds like someone couldn't get along with their original roommate.

I should have said that.

"SHE'S AN ER DOCTOR. I'M SURE SHE'LL GIVE US A DERMATOLOGY REFERRAL IF YOU JUST CALL THE FICTITIONAL CHICAGO HOSPITAL CIRCA 2001".

The chocolate is handmade, yes, and it's SO GOOD. I just ate a dark chocolate peanut butter cup and it was sinful.

Re the roommate, I guess he was in a single in this dorm out in no-man's land, farthest reaches of campus, which is usually billed as "quiet and private". He wanted out as that was not where he wanted to be.

So it was discovered that there was a triple with only 2 people in it, and he was given the option of moving in.

So far I think the big issue is that my kid and the roommate he knows from high school, A*, have established the room as the place to hang out on their floor at this point. Games and shows get watched on their big TV, the door stays open until 2 am, etc. It's been 2 months of this and I guess they like this set up.

New roommate S*, not so much.

Re: What's New/super legit maths forum

I offered my youngest kid a candy bribe if he would forgo trick or treating. He said no... because he can go trick or treating and get candy as well.

I donít think he quite understood the nature of what I was trying to accomplish.

I am sooooo over Halloween.
