Re: Woody's: Frozen Pipes and Stinky Buns

Something hilarious happened to me this morning as I found a notebook I had when LOST was on. I had recorded all the shows and my observations. There were little sketches in the book of some of the props from Lost. I was trying to figure that show out until the end. And then it ended and .... you know the rest. I think I will burn it this weekend. Ceremonially as that would be fitting for the show, and send up all the smoke/incense in homage to us all.

Re: Woody's: Frozen Pipes and Stinky Buns

Tonight's the burning of the book.
Last night was open mic night at the pub, and this is the week to enjoy it for me.

Yesterday Tasha got confused and went out of her electronic fence. The electricity doesn't work any more but usually she stays in. She was happy to be in the field and then she started to head to her favorite neighbor's house, however, he lives by a busy road. Had to high tail it to get her. She surprised herself and as she came home she ran a little. That was cute, but ultimately not good because it got her weezeing started up.
I pulled out my ukulele and practiced and she calmed down.

No burning, maybe tonight. We've got to fire up the fireplace. Last night we just drank wine and lounged.

Looking up Public Domain songs. Tawaret, do you know any? I've got a list from the 1920's. Listening to those it is hard tobreak through that sound, that style of music. Tin pan alley style? What would you call the music from the 1920's?

Still the burning has been delayed.

Lots of stuff going on and I'll tell you all later.
Have a great day folks.

Not off the top of my head.

Wasn't Jazz the music of the twenties? I'm sure it wasn't the only style though.

Zaphod of Whiskers, Zaph, told me "Ragtime". That is what I was looking for, but it is more than that almost. The music with the hollow sound of a gramaphone, and a Betty Boop quality. When I think Jazz, my views are turned to the modern variety.

omg lol I just came across a roaring 20's song called "The Dumber They Come, The Better I Like Them". Hoboy, the lyrics are just as bad as you can imagine.

Then ScotPgot is cluing me in more on the public domain laws.

Re: Woody's: Frozen Pipes and Stinky Buns

Yesterday there was sunshine outside and I walked almost 8 miles! It was so fine to be out in a crisp day with sun.
Last night I was a bit achey, but a good ache.

Where did my post go?
I'll try to remember what I wrote.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone. In ancient time this day was celebrated as Lupercalia, a day of wanton sexyness. A story I heard claims Roman soldiers would draw a woman's name from a helmet then go and be with her for a day, a day of wontoness.

Anyone else have an ancient story to tell here?
