Thanks from me, too!

Maybe the Watchmen parallels will give way to -- V for Vendetta? Mr. Mo, have you read Pax Americana in The Multiversity series? I know Grant Morrison and Alan Moore hate each other, but Morrison’s riff on Watchmen is terrific.

Anthropoid - 7/10

A bit dull really. But it was informative to someone such as myself who is not a history buff at all.

I think there was a fairly recent movie involving the time when the Allies and German soldiers actually allied to take out the SS holding hostages near the end of the war. I need to look that one up

I've always thought of V For Vendetta as its own little riff on Phantom, but it's only fair to acknowledge that there's more going on than that simple homage.

I've read no Multiversity but will try to keep it in mind. Moore and Morrison are free to hate each others' guts until the end of time and it's unlikely to effect my opinions in the slightest. I'll try to remember to keep an eye out, thanks for the tip!

Beauty and the Beast -live acted
10 out of 10

It was a musical but not over done at all. I always enjoyed the story line and this was well done with a few additional additions that enhanced the story.
Emma Watson did a good job. Is that her real singing voice?

The movie even brought me to tears here and there.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched

The Offering - 4/10

The concept had a cool hook, the acting ranged from average to pretty good, the scenery was top-notch, and the direction was solid with a few truly inspired moments.

However, the writing was really very poor and too many elements were too obviously borrowed from other films in the same genre. Too often i cringed watching actors delivering lines that they knew were crap; credit to the actors for not cringing themselves, though.

Although the execution from the cast and crew were solid, the story lacked original elements and failed to stitch together older elements into something that felt fresh to me. In fact the writers tried a little too hard to incorporate too many classic elements and it left the story trying to accomplish too much and consequently failing at most of it. At one point i recall thinking, "They could've gone parodic trying to bring together so many cliches, and it might have worked better."

Btw, 4 isn't a terrible mark coming from me, it merely means that i felt the film as a whole was below average. I debated between 3.5 and 4, but the scenery and direction were good enough to tip the scales up that half a point.

I also thought this was excellent. My son really likes his musicals (me not so much) so I was a reluctant viewer initially but was very impressed. I'd recommend this to anyone.

And yes, I believe that really was Emma Watson singing!!

Dr Strange
8 out of 10

Well done story with nicely fleshed out characters but there was almost too much CGI action scenes for me. If I had been drinking while watching this I would have thought my alcohol of choice was Absinthe.

Dunkirk - 7/10

I love Chris Nolan but that story was pretty meh. Maybe his brother was too busy to write it for him. I can't imagine ever watching it again.

The Killing Of A Sacred Deer 7/10 - weird
Mother (2017) 7/10 - weirder

I really like what both these films were doing. Very much a style I enjoy watching. Only issue I have with them is how they ended. Otherwise, both are enjoyable plodding rides into madness.
