gift cards make great gifts both for shoppers who are lazy and/or have a lot of gifts to buy. They're also a shrewd choice if there are individuals in your life for whom it is difficult to shop. When bought through the astore, they also help support this site, which isn't self-sufficient and doesn't hold fund-raisers or any of that other crap.

Please consider doing at least some of your holiday shopping through our astore this year.

Got some good eats for lunch today! Chicken and broccoli with some Rotini! Sometimes I skip the Alfredo sauce. Put some butter on it, then some Italian bread crumbs and top off with Romano cheese. Man, I'm getting hungry typing this!!
Looks like it will be an early lunch!
Lol I only have skills b/c I'm a bad driver. But it might make me a good derby contenstent. Once I backed into a guy's car in a parking lot and he made a huge scene (his car was pretty damaged) and yelled at me to call the cops, which I did, and then the cops arrested him on outstanding warrants. So not the sharpest tool, and my poor driving skills helped fight crime.

Scary stuff. That happened to my (pregnant) step-daughter a few weeks ago. She has a much more reliable vehicle now, with nice sharp ice/winter gripper tires.

That sounds like a phenomenal winter soup. Any chance you might share the recipe?

One of the odd things about living in NYS's Capitol Region is that it's one of the most seismically active places in the world. There are 4 mountain ranges seriously close by and at least 3 more fairly close, including the Adirondack mountain range, which last i knew was the fastest rising mountain chain on planet Earth. We have quakes all the time, yet we never have major quakes. Anything approaching 3.0 is like once a decade or so.
I didn't know that.

And glad your stepdaughter is ok!

It was horrible, some of the worst months of my life.
Did you lose your home?

Tornados are too damn unpredictable and destructive.
One hit my sister's neighborhood in MD and it was terrifying. I wasn't there but she told me about sitting in the living room (no basements, close to the water) with her 3 kids and it sounding like a train coming.

I saw the devastation later. One house would be demolished, and the one next door would be fine.

Yeah. I've never experienced a tornado either. I think I might choose quake over tornado now that I think about it.

That's awesome Cat! Wish I was there to see it. Did it ever get processed on your insurance?

Re: What's New/Gangsta Soup Paradise

You know, I don't think so, because his license was suspended and he was not supposed to be driving...he was doing a delivery to the store in someone else's car.

What kind of dimwit demands you call the cops when his license is suspended?

He should have been like, "Hey, no problem, see you later" and pushed the car away if he had to.

We lost a home in Frances and then got a new one and lost that in Jeanne. We also lost a 400 square foot storage unit full of valuable stuff, the best food-service gig i never even dreamed of, and pretty much all our personal belongings that wouldn't fit in a Mazda MPV with us and 3 kids (only 2 mine, yeah).
