Come on Hodge. The Eagles have never won a Super Bowl. Root for them. Particularly against what a local sportscaster called the Evil Empire. I'm rooting for the Eagles. Let's see Foles have one more Doug Williams game.

Re: NFL Thread Pt. II

Remember last week, when we were actually discussing the possibility of Hoyer playing?
As if Hoyer (or Jimmy G) might have had an impact on that game at all?
Hopefully that's been put to bed.
Local radio hasn't fully let go of it, but there's always that one person in the crowd that needs to hang on something so they can say "I told you so!"
It wasn't pretty, but really, when is it ever pretty?

Great game by Jacksonville.
Looks like Cleveland will be known has the "doormat of the NFL" for the next few seasons. Good for Jax on shedding that moniker. They'll be a force to be reckoned with for awhile, but I can't imagine too many people getting stoked about Bortles. They're more like the Vikings when Adrian Peterson was carrying the load. I can't even remember a single QB they had during that time. Fournette looks like the young stud RB they need to play the role of "AP" in that offense, and the defense is REALLY good. Wouldn't be surprised to see them back in the AFCC again next year.

Go Pats.

Pleas God, don't let the New England Patriots win another Super Bowl!

Yeah BA, that was the point I was making when I mentioned how much I hate the Eagles. I'll be pulling for them because I hate the Patriots even more. I said last season, or maybe it was the season before, 'I don't know who I hate more, the Devil or the New England Patrioits.

This season, TB-12 has reaffirmed his status as the GOAT! He's 40-years old, 17-years in the League, and he's still able to lead his team to the promise land.

And, believe me, he's the reason they've made it these last years. No Edelman (spl). No running-game per se. Yeah, he got a new target this season, but it didn't take him long to learn how to take the top off of a Defense.

ZoW, I don't see them loosing either, and you're right, it's boring as HELL. But, somebody, some Team in the AFC has to take it from them. They're not going to give it away.

Now, with them loosing both their OC and DC to other Teams next season, maybe this will be the best chance for another Team to pounce. But, we said that last season, when Brady turned 40.

Map, I'm sitting here and I can't think of one either.

So you're finally willing to concede on Peyton Manning?

Remember when we lost Charlie Weis and Romeo Crennel after the first three SBs? Slowed us down a little--as these departures might--but didn't end the dynasty.

Except Brett Favre, who was probably the more significant of the two during his first of two seasons there.

You're right, it's rarely pretty, but that's part of the fun, isn't it? That's why the Jax game had such high ratings. Love the Pats or not, you've got to love the drama!

Map, soup, brdmom, etc--let's get our sixth!

I thought I conceded that fact last season, when the Pats won their 5th Super Bowl.

But it doesn't matter, TB-12 is without a doubt the greatest QB to ever play the game. So let it be written, so let it be done.

Guys, how long have Patricia and McDaniels' been with the team? IIRC, this is McDaniels 2nd stint with the Pats. He left to be the HC of the Broncos awhile back.

Also, were they position-coaches prior to becoming DC and OC? I guess what I'm trying to figure out, where will the new Coordinators come from?

I'd forgotten all about Brett.

The coaches almost always get promoted from within. System is too complex to step into without some prior familiarity. McDaniels and Patricia started their careers as Pats assistants. Next in line at DC will almost surely be Brian Flores; not as sure on the OC side, but possibly Chad O'Shea (my guess is he'll call the plays but not be given the official coordinator title yet).

Re: NFL Thread Pt. II

I was trying to remember whether I've ever watched an NFL Pro Bowl game? I'm sure I have, but I can't remember when.

Anyone watching tomorrows game?

Anyone watch any of the other festivities there?

Re: NFL Thread Pt. II

I don't watch the Pro Bowl, it might be entertaining but as it has no bearing on anything it seems like just an exhibition game.

Anyone care to place bets on how long i will watch the superbowl? actually i will likely only watch the second half, since that is when it normally gets exciting. UNLESS TB gets injured and goes out early, in which case I will watch. and not an eagles fan but will be rooting for the Eagles just because NE has been become the 'expect to win it as per usual' team.
