Star Trek Continues - Webseries

If you are a Star Trek TOS fan, you cannot miss this Webseries. So far, three have been produced along with some smaller vignettes. They are absolutely the closes thing you'll come to the "Lost Episodes" of Star Trek. They are filmed in the same manner as the original, the sets, the musical cues , costumes and writing, everything that made the original series great are in these episodes.
These episodes also include some very familiar guest stars.

Re: Star Trek Continues

two seconds in and I am in love

Half way through first epi and I love even more.... James Doohan's son plays Scotty. Grant Imahara of Mythbusters fame plays Sulu...what more do you need?

The acting ins't the best (duh) but it is so reminiscent of TOS sounds, sights, feels. Cheesy sound effects and all. The play between characters isn't there like TOS but if you can get past that it isn't bad.

Re: Star Trek Continues

I'd seen the Apollo one before after being lead to it at another site. The production value really is top notch but the casting runs from adequate to terrible. Watched the Lolani (sp?) one today, the writing's improving, to be sure. I really think they might have been better off doing a different ship and crew from TOS Trek, trying to recast the Enterprise crew with the talent pool they have is coming across almost as parody.

How do you guys think this stacks up to Star Trek: New Voyages / Phase II?

I don't believe it will ever become a parody, but an homage to the original series.

Re: Star Trek Continues

Thank you for the link Mr Bill!!
I just watched Apollo...you are right they do nail the music, and sound effects, loved the red head doctors bra that turn her boobs into a chin rest... Acting was a little lame but they are trying to "camp" it up.
It's funny the one thing I noticed on the bridge set was the flashy lights...they are digital, ( there is no flicker like analog lights) but other than that i am amazed at the pains they went thru to turn back time to the 60's.
thanks again!!

Re: Star Trek Continues

Wow I watched part of Apollo-- ran out of time and will finish it later but that was really amazing and weird too! Love how it's un-updated absolutely fabulous! But it takes some getting used to the actors caricaturing the original characters. Once I figured out they were only half serious it got better.

Re: Star Trek Continues

I had the biggest smile on my face after Kirk's opening credits voice-over on "Fairest of them All". Michael Dorn as the computer's voice .. just perfect.
