Well known band:

In the cantina
Margarita's keep the spirit high
There I watched her
She spun around and
Round in the warmth of her body
Fanned the flame of the dance
Dance Margarita don't you know that I'm in love with you

ZoW, those lyrics do sound familiar.

What about a hint, J_C?

Huge band.
This was a big hit in the 60's (#12 on the 100) then was apparently sorta forgotten. Perhaps in the shadow of their other songs.
The band is not known for writing songs with this subject matter.

More lyrics:

You're under arrest
My children were raised
You know they suddenly rise
They started slow long ago
Head to toe healthy wealthy and often wise

I wasn't born until '64, but huge band is a clue. Beatles? I have no clue of the song, though.

Beatles is close, as far as hugeness.

"Heroes and Villians" by The Beach Boys

Yeah, this may've been before my time. But, you were right about, huge band.

Wow, the Smile sessions. That is a little obscure, J_C, even though the band is indeed huge.

Smiley Smile is my favorite Beach Boys album, but you got me too.
