He is the soldier who joined the Brotherhood without Banners and serves the Lord of Light, in this ep he was the balding guy with the manbun that the Hound was taunting. Also the one who got the Hound to look into the fire.

Re: Game of Thrones S07E01 "Dragonstone"

Okay, Manbun is now his new name then. I can remember that. Same way I can remember the other guy, Patchy.

FYI, if you ever see me refer to Big Red, that's the leader of the Wildings. Same with Brienne's squire, Bowl Cut. Oh, and my nickname for the soldier who was singing is Ed Sheeran.

I do remember the father/daughter now rather distinctly. It was an odd exchange they had with Arya and The Hound. I remember being unsure of how it was going to turn out as the well written dialog kept the narrative shifty.

I thought the Ed Sheeran scene was very poor in an otherwise decent first epi. Poor dialogue & wooden actors.

Re: Game of Thrones S07E01 "Dragonstone"

I think that the scene was meant to show how far removed from Cersei and Kings Landing regular soldiers are. They all looked as though they were conscripted just last week however! I liked their brief stories about news from home. They obviously didn't care that much about Arya's vocalized threat to the Queen. Probably because the Queen has little representation in their lives. If there's trouble in Kings Landing, I think this band will be heading to their homes instead. Cersei who?

Speaking of Cersei and Kings Landing, I liked Uncle Euron's insults way more than I liked him or the actor. Jamie's facial responses had more fire.

I knew that already. I was using humor there. You should try it sometime.

I prefer my humor to be funny.

Re: Game of Thrones S07E01 "Dragonstone"

Outside of the fact that I lack the electron microscope level subtlety detector necessary to pick up on that humor, here is what bothered me about that scene.

It came across as "hey, our buddy Ed Sheeran is a huge fan of the show, so I know what would be cool!!.. let's have Ed do a guest appearance! ... and I know what will be extra clever.. what if we have him be the Westerosi version of.... Ed Sheeran!!!"

I found it unnecessary and much less than clever. Personally I would have thought it much better had he come in and played the most non Ed Sheeran character possible.
