Re: NFL Thread Pt. II

Watch out league, the Pats pieces are all starting to fall into place. A fine across-the-boards win tonight.

The rest of the games, like last week's, were kind of thin, I thought. The Browns, Chargers, Colts, Jets and Giants all typically found ways to lose winnable games. The Rams, Vikings and Saints established themselves as genuine for once. One major piece out and the Cowboys (like the Giants, with Beckham) folded completely.

Right now it would be easiest to foresee Pats-KC in the AFC Championship and Phil-LAR in the NFC (though the NFC is a tougher conference to read as yet).

Re: NFL Thread Pt. II

Excuse me, the Saints have won 6 in a row now, and each game they seem to be improving a little over the last. Those 6 wins include Green Bay, Detroit, Chicago, Buffalo, Carolina, Miami, and Tampa. Some of those are pretty darned good teams. These Saints still aren't playing their best ball yet either. Barring injury and/or bad cajun juju, i think we can expect to see this team winning in the playoffs this season.

I know it was only against the Giants, but the Niners finally won and Beathard is actually looking like he might become an effective NFL quarterback.

Whew!

It should be interesting what they do when Jimmy is ready to play. There will probably be a bit of a QB controversy coming up if Beathard can do that again next week. Itís gotta be hard to be a 49ers fan right now, but they have pieces to make the future at least appear to be bright.

Is that one piece Elliott or Tyron Smith?

Want to make this announcement because I'm sure everyone was worried about Dak after being sacked 8 times yesterday afternoon. Well, he's doing alright after that beat-down.

Mr Mo, I've started to turn toward the Saints knowing Zeke will be out another 5 weeks serving his suspension.

The Defense and the running game have allowed Brees the comfort of not having to trow 50 times a game. That alone should get them to a playoff game.

Oh, and I can tell you what to do about a possible curse. TPTB (Mrs. Hodgepodge) has cursed me more times than I want to admit.

Man, the Giants are the worst Team in the League.

Yeah, the Browns haven't won yet, but they also haven't given up during a game. You could definitely see some of New York's DBs not hustling to make tackles. It was tough watching.

Re: NFL Thread Pt. II

Patriots sure look like they've found their groove. It's what they do--adjust. Now they look like the Super Bowl contenders everyone expected they would be before Edelman got injured.

As for the rest of the league, I can say that only the Eagles, Saints and Vikings look authentic right now. The Chiefs somehow lost a game to a Giants team that looked desperate to lose. The Jags and Browns game was an utter embarrassment (I actually watched a good bit of it while waiting on the Pats, as the Browns made some noises at competency last week against Detroit). The Miasma Dolphins, the Pack-it-ins, the Busted Broncos...all would be contenders right now if NFL stood for National Fail League. Oh, and as for those Cowboys; well, enough said the better.

What a mix of mediocrity among the few shining stars this year.
