Greatest Warrior in the Game of Thrones Universe

Ever since Jaime Lannister was bragging to Brienne about being the best fighter in Westeros, my mind has been racing about who is the best warrior in the Seven Kingdoms and beyond. Dead or alive, regardless of location, who do you think is/was the greatest fighter in Game of Thrones universe? Jaime also said there's only two or three fighters who could even challenge him. Who do you think he was talking about?! How about matchups? Who wins between Brienne and Jaime? Drogo vs. Gregor?

My contention is that Ned Stark could have bested Jaime in a fair fight without interruption. My ranking of fighters goes like this, and I must admit that I haven't yet read the books, so this is based solely on the TV series and the small sampling that I've seen:

1) Khal Drogo (for ripping out Mago's tongue through his neck...with his own weapon)
2) Ned Stark
3) Jaime Lannister
4) Barristan Selmy (based on the stories of his reputation as the Kingsguard)
5) Gregor/Sandor Clegane (tie)
6) Stannis Baratheon
7) Bronn
8) Brienne of Tarth
9) Syrio Forel
10) Ser Jorah Mormont
11) Robb Stark
12) Jon Snow

What do you guys think?! Am I completely off base? Who am I missing? Dissect my list and/or make your own! We need something to pass the days until the S3 premiere!

Drogo would have my vote, at least for sheer strength.

It would be cool to see sue of these battle. You should have made a poll!

Drogo, for sure. I'm probably a little biased because I'm in absolute and complete lust with him, but even without that I think it would be him.

Drogo is super sexy. He kills in more ways than one, no question.

But damn if I don't have a ridiculous crush on Bronn

Wait. What was the question?

I love the guy who plays Bronn in the show! hehe

This is a tough choice. I will have to think on it longer but here are a few.

Jaquen Ha'gar
The Dog clegane
While Jamie is said to be an amazing fighter. I have had little show of his prowess. He seems to lose more often as far as I can tell...
Khal Drogo for sure...
I think Arya is pretty formidable considering her size.

I guess it comes down to whether a person's accomplishments are quantified by personal kills...or orchestrated kills.

Bronn. By a mile. Nobody else I'd want by my side.

"You do not fight honourably!"
BRONN: He did.

Brilliant

Dunno, The Hound is clearly my favorite.
Maybe the late Robert could put together a tourney.

Khal Drogo, most fierce warrior.

Bronn, best dirty fighter, but still best.

Re: Greatest Warrior in the Game of Thrones Universe

Drogo for sure.

I do think that between the Cleganes The Mountain takes The Dog. Simply because Gregor is inhumane and brutal and would use anything to beat Sandor if it was a battle, including fire. Hell, he used it once before.

Re: Greatest Warrior in the Game of Thrones Universe

Great Idea, MV. You should TOTALLY read the books.

1) Barristan Selmy (Can't say much here without stuff from the books, although I think Jaime had some stuff to say about how awesome he was, plus Cersei mentions his bravery)

2) Syrio Forel/Jaqen Hghar (In my opinion, not a book spoiler, they're the same. Therefore he survives the battle with Meryn Trant, and becomes Jaqen. Plus he took down dudes with a wooden sword!!).

3) Khal Drogo (Never lost a battle, except to infection).

4/5) Gregor/Sandor (I'd put Sandor on top of Gregor ONLY if he was fighting Gregor. His rage would win out).

6) Ned Stark

7) Brienne of Tarth (really wanted to put her on top of Ned - but that's some kinky fanfiction stuff)

8) Loras Tyrell

9) Jaime Lannister (...)

10) Bronn (Bronn's more a survivor than a great fighter. He loves to kill, but I think in a tournament he wouldn't do well).

11) Jon Snow (We know Halfhand let him win, so he can't be that high on the list. Although, with Ghost, he jumps up 8 spots)

12) Robb Stark (Robb's a great tactician and leader, but I don't know anything about his fighting skills. Also, if we're saying him + Grey Wind then he jumps up like 8 spots)

13) Ser Jorah Mormont (only good in his armor)

14) Stannis Baratheon (his spunk/shadow babies are better fighters than he is)
