Sandor Clegane.

As long as you don't have some matches.

2) Syrio Forel/Jaqen Hghar (In my opinion, not a book spoiler, they're the same. Therefore he survives the battle with Meryn Trant, and becomes Jaqen. Plus he took down dudes with a wooden sword!!).

3) Khal Drogo (Never lost a battle, except to infection).

4/5) Gregor/Sandor (I'd put Sandor on top of Gregor ONLY if he was fighting Gregor. His rage would win out).

6) Ned Stark

7) Brienne of Tarth (really wanted to put her on top of Ned - but that's some kinky fanfiction stuff)

8) Loras Tyrell

9) Jaime Lannister (...)

10) Bronn (Bronn's more a survivor than a great fighter. He loves to kill, but I think in a tournament he wouldn't do well).

11) Jon Snow (We know Halfhand let him win, so he can't be that high on the list. Although, with Ghost, he jumps up 8 spots)

12) Robb Stark (Robb's a great tactician and leader, but I don't know anything about his fighting skills. Also, if we're saying him + Grey Wind then he jumps up like 8 spots)

13) Ser Jorah Mormont (only good in his armor)

14) Stannis Baratheon (his spunk/shadow babies are better fighters than he is)
I'm about 1/3 of the way through GoT now. Regarding #2 above...

Woof, My bad. What I said is pretty vague, and it's not too spoilerly. Also, the first part is pure speculation.

IMO This is one of those things that is sort of like Renly being gay. If you read through without knowing or thinking of it you wont necessarily catch it (I didn't), but if you read back through with it in mind it's really obvious. I don't know if it's been confirmed or not but it totally makes sense.

Wait...what is speculation? That Jaqen = Syrio? Is this just your assumption or is it book canon? I'm so confused.

It does make sense, though, especially considering that "Jaqen" was taken from King's Landing by Yoren. He could have been a shape-shifted Syrio looking to escape. The more you think about it, the more you can see it.

Jaqen=Syrio is just speculation. Not book canon at all. I actually read all the books and didn't ever think that until someone else mentioned it.

Re: Greatest Warrior in the Game of Thrones Universe

Going ONLY from the show, I'd say:

The Mountain
Drogo
The Hound
Jaimie
Bronn
Brienne
Robert Baratheon (in his prime)
Syrio Forel

Spoiler: book info
Adding the books, you gotta add - IF YOU DON'T WANNA KNOW POSSIBLE FUTURE CHARACTER NAMES - DON'T READ:

(NAMES ONLY - no plot spoilers)

Areo Hoteh
Darkstar
Oberyn "The Red Serpent" Martell

Hmm pretty good list. I think Brienne is too high though (at least from the books). The show didn't really show enough of her to gauge.

Spoiler: spoiler for books
Oberyn Martell is my choice overall.
