Re: Midnight, Texas NBC Monday

Just finished watching, and surprisingly I enjoyed it.

I've never been a fan of vampire series, so I'm glad there's only one so far in this show. I didn't watch True Blood, but I'm willing to give this a try.

Loved all of the characters especially Manfred Bernardo, who's played by François Arnaud. There's also a large mix of every type of character as well. There's a man who can sprout wings. A witch, or Lesbian, according to the Deputy Sheriff. There's a preacher, who I haven't figured out his claim to fame. Except, he has a pet cemetery whose occupants I fear aren't all animals. There's also a hit-woman, who's having an elicit affair with the vampire.

There was a murder in the premiere, and the victim has already paid a visit to Manfred the Psychic. He's willing to help find her killer along with all the residents of Midnight Texas.

Re: Midnight, Texas NBC Monday

I'm caught up, but since the premiere, I haven't enjoyed the rest of the episodes.

This latest episode, "Lemuel, Unchained", he's visited by friends from his past. These friends are Vampires also, and it's obvious Olivia doesn't like them.

Throughout the episode we get a flashback into Lemuel's life, prior to becoming a Vampire and after.

Later in the episode, Olivia is proven right in her dislike of Lemuel's friends.

Behind on this, but the first two episodes were more fun than we thought they'd be. The characters are interesting, though there's not much mystery to the murder, it's more of a set-up for the actual story. The dialogue isn't clever enough but the photography is impressive, making the town look both convincingly real enough but also flat, not real.

If only Buffy had had this kind of special effects budget!

ITA. I thought the pilot was great, the 2nd was meh, and the 3rd I FFed through a lot of. I think having Manfred become part of the group has been a little rushed and heavy handed.

But I think it has promise I like a lot of the characters, so I'm still watching. Hopefully it will pick back up !

Guys, I love the characters too. I also like the idea, we still don't know everyone's "gift".

For instance. The girl Manfred likes, and in turn, she likes him. I'd bet my soul she's got one of these "gifts". Plus, her father wants every man to stay as far away as possible.

I'd also be curious to know whether the "Angel's" boyfriend is as "normal" as he seems.

One more. I love "grandma" she's a hoot!

This didn't bother me that much, because we were shown he's got a "gift" of communicating with the dead. And, we saw how many of the dead live in that house he rented.

And don't forget, TPTB gave him this immediate attraction to Creek. She's also smitten. He's not going anywhere soon.
