Glee: The Final Season (6)

Wow! How much has this show fallen off the map? This used to be THE headline show of the Fox prime time network....and now it's moved to Friday night (the night where shows go to die) and had such little promotion that I didn't even know the new season started a week ago. Crazy.

I'm catching up now on hulu.

Re: Glee: The Final Season (6)

I just read/skimmed this article about Glee from EW. Since I didn't watch the end of last season, I'm not sure what is spoilerish - there isn't anything earth shattering even if it is a spoiler.

http://insidetv.ew.com/2015/01/16/gl...-should-watch/

I may watch the first few episodes at least. I have them on the DVR.

Last season was terrible. This season they seem to be semi acknowledging that was a mistake by moving it back to Ohio and back the high school scene.

Okay it's still not great like early seasons after three episodes, but that one had an EPIC Santana rant that was incredible and awesome. Best Glee moment in a long, long time.

Re: Glee: The Final Season (6)

I used to like the show a lot and it was my early morning Hulu watch, then I had to wait a week to watch and things started to slide for me.

The early seasons were delightful and funny and so filled with wonderous song. And life situations. Those were what kept the show alive.
I hope it can live up to it early grandness and go out with goodness.

I know one spoiler that disappoints me. A favorite character is involved.

I finally watched the finale, and it was worthy of the show when it was at its best. If you enjoyed Glee at all, it is worth the watch. Totally feel good, and if you are a teacher or love a teacher or appreciate teachers, it will make you cry.
The way I cried when they sang "To Sir With Love" to Mr. Shue.

Re: Glee: The Final Season (6)

Spoiler: Finale Spoilers in my reaction to it
It was alright. The whole show started so strong and then just went so far off the rails as it kept going. So good the first season and then it was even still strong as they went into becoming issue oriented. But when they went to NY it just turned bad and then when Finn died they were totally out of sorts with what to do and it went terrible. They tried to recover a little bit this season, but it was still all just a season of being a tribute to themselves. The flash forward stuff had some bizarre decisions in it - which stinks because obviously in that situation you get no explanation and no understanding. Why would Artie and Tina end up together? They weren't that good together. He was MUCH better with Kitty and she was better with Mike. Why would Rachel end up with Jesse? They spent so much time building up her and Sam and never really redeemed Jesse. Bizarre.

But that said, the show was always capable of some terrific moments. After the horrible decision to go to New York and abandon two of the best things the show ever had in Sue and Will, they really brought them back strong. And that final song with 99% of everyone who ever did anything on that show was so great. I'll definitely miss the potential of this show and the moments that were so powerful and stirring. I seriously doubt there is going to be a show again like this on TV in my lifetime.
