I thought everyone read that in eighth or ninth grade English class. Ray Bradbury's "All Summer in a Day" is another middle school short story classic.

We read Fahrenheit 451.

As for Shakespeare, we did a different play every semester, not just Romeo & Juliet.

Sleeping Beauties by Stephen King and his son Owen King. Just getting started, but it's good so far.

Re: What are you reading?

I liked the early Robert Jordan books in a lukewarm sort of way, didn't fall in love with the series until around the fourth book.

I finished Lord of the Flies and The Darkest Day. Started McKiernan's The Trek to Kraggen-Cor, which is book 1 of the Silver Call duology.

Re: What are you reading?

Yeah, it's alright. But, it's a super long series so I can read it for a long time, which is a plus for me.

Re: What are you reading?

Reading Eve Chase's second book, The Wildling Sisters. She wrote Black Rabbit Hall which I LOVED. Gothic historical fiction/suspense. Old houses w/ personalities of their own, old secrets, the past colliding with the present, etc.

Finished listening to A Cottage in A Wood. I was really enjoying it until the big reveal, which was not the payoff I was hoping for after an excellent build up. Now listening to From Sand and Ash, historical romance set in Italy during WWII. Jewish girl loves Catholic priest during WWII...plenty of conflict there.

Re: What are you reading?

Finished "Eye of the World." Decent fantasy. Not terribly special, but a good start. I like the Ogier guy.

Picked up Book 2 from the library this afternoon. Will likely not start it tonight, but will tomorrow.

Re: What are you reading?

I'm close to finishing The Brega Path by Dennis L. McKiernan. It'll complete my revisit of Mithgar, as it's the last book in terms of in-story chronology. It's been a worthwhile return after all these years, and definitely fun reading my selected novels in the order that they happen in Mithgar itself, as opposed to reading them in the order they were written/published. McKiernan said not too long ago that he thinks he's done writing Mithgar novels, which is what prompted my limited re-read.
