There's still a chance the vote could be vacated due to the irregularities with the public comments, but it will take a highly placed federal judge who has serious chutzpah and/or seriously cares.

I thought senators or reps had the power to cancel it?

I assume that Trump hired this clown to run the FCC?

Re: Net Neutrality, and access

Well, his rise is a little bit complicated. The FCC board is 4 seats, 2 chosen by each major party, and then the chairman is risen from those ranks by the administration currently in power.

So technically Pai was an Obama nominee, though he pretty much had to nominate the person Republicans wanted at the time. Trump picked him for chair out of the 4 when Obama's chair departed.

Assuming i understand and remember everything properly, which isn't necessarily a safe assumption.

And i didn't know that a Congressional figure could vacate the vote, that will give me a lot more hope if true because it would be an extremely popular move and i think politicians generally love that kind of thing.

Re: Net Neutrality, and access

18 state Attorney Generals are suing the current administration's FCC over this issue.

Call your state's AG, ask them why they are not joining to sue the FCC over killing net neutrality.

Individual governors (see Washington) are already stating that they'll enforce Net Neutrality (for what it's worth, which isn't much once you cross state lines--unless it's a significant plurality of states).

There IS also a mechanism where Congress can kill this: the Congressional Review Act. The CRA only needs a simply majority in Congress to kill actions by federal agencies--like the FCC.

Currently, about 83% of the country wants access to the internet to be regulated as a utility; if we make enough noise, this bill can be killed.

Call/email/snail mail your elected representative, senator, governor, and all local officials, to tell them just how not okay you are with what Ajit Pai is trying to do.

The fight is not impossibly harder, but it is still not over.
