yeah I basically gave up on the comics when they didn't kill him. Heck if you accept morbidity then at least cut out the guys tongue and remove his hands.

How did the comic deal with Negan?

Who is still alive in the comics and who met the best or grisliest death?

He was kept in a prison cell for a long time. Rick eventually let him free and Negan helped Rick and the rest against enemies that wore the faces of the dead to disguise themselves and not be attacked by walkers

For me, Glenn's death to Negan was the most brutal death in the comics, which was why I was so frustrated the Scott Gimple turned it into a cheap season cliffhanger on the show.

Rick, Carl, Michonne, Eugene, Jesus and Negan are still alive. I believe sophia is still alive as well.

stupid right. if negan's left alive on the show then the show itself plummets to its own death. i mean retroactively and entirely. but the free radical might be darryl who was never in the comics and since he operates viscerally he might say screw all this and kill negan himself---hopefully in the same way negan killed glen and in the show's instance abraham. but i would almost prefer a ramsay bolton demise as was delivered by sansa stark. yes. that would be almost satisfying enough to warrant a return to watching the show. at least for that episode.

Negan disappears for long periods of time in the comics.

It was clear that Kirkman adored Negan and didn't want to kill him off. I just think Negan was just a bit too much to believe and clearly that is what has happened in the show. He is simply not a classic TV villain.

I sort of remember him regretting killing off some characters. I'm not sure if the Governor was one of them.
