I don't think the average person has much to worry about unless they commit a well-publicized crime and then plead not guilty. But I would also agree with you -- I don't ever want to be in a position like this.

Did you see the movie, "Runaway Jury"? If not, check it out.

Also, I'm going to continue watching Bull even though I don't lean towards procedurals. This one is different and I want to see more.
I'm not very forgiving. If I am not captured the first run by something, then I won't be back. I'll be back here.

Dr Bull and others did comment that this was for the rich as his services were quite expensive.

Re: Bull - CBS Tuesday

This episode pulled a few punches decently. Michael Weatherly is impressing me with his acting chops. Hearing that there really was a person , Dr Phil, who did just such a job makes the whole show better.

It's also nice that everyone in America knows who Dr. Phil is.

Yep! Here's a good article on Dr. Phil's involvement with the show.

Bull: How Involved Is Dr. Phil with the Show? LINK

I enjoyed this episode and was particularly interested in the prejudice/bias that people have and are unaware of. Before this episode, I would never have guessed that I too have a gender bias, but I do. Honestly, if someone had presented two airline pilots to me -- a man and a woman -- and asked me to pick the person to pilot the plane just on seeing them -- I would most likely have picked the man -- and that's nothing but gender bias.

It also opened my eyes as to how all of us can walk away from a given scenario with different opinions -- it's our preconceived and unintentional bias that will help form the conclusions we arrive at. Look at that woman juror who didn't like the defendant because her hair color was the same as the woman's hair color who her husband cheated on her with. If someone had told her that, she would deny it because she didn't consciously know that -- but such was the case.

I find the psychology behind the represented jury selection very compelling and it makes this show different from anything else out there. Michael Weatherly is perfect as Bull and I hope everyone gives this show a shot.

Re: Bull - CBS Tuesday

The defendant mentioned several times that she couldn't afford to pay an attorney. So, I'm guessing that means she couldn't afford to pay Bull either. So why did he do it for free? Well, it wasn't free -- he still had to pay all those people, so Bull took a financial loss to help Captain Taylor Mathison. Why did he do that?

Since the defendant mentioned her inability to pay an attorney, I expected the show to address payment to Bull. Unless, I missed it -- it didn't.

Re: Bull - CBS Tuesday

I had to run for an errand, but now I'm back. I have to admit that I was falling asleep off and on during this show, so my comments are basic.

Clarify??
The punch was that the old fashioned lawyer, the biased and almost mysoginistic lawyer was released and the young fellow from the team was called in to do the job, which he did nicely.

The show was good, but I wonder how it is going to be fresh each week. As Sandi says, the newness will be the psychology, but sometimes that just might feel like I am taking a class Bull is bringing up so much material in that way.
It will be a new case each time, but I already was expecting the show to be exactly like the previous week, and it was.
That's fine for now, and I wonder how the show will stay fresh each week? I'll just have to watch and find out.

I have to say that Weatherly is a new character here.
Hodge, his character on NCIS, Tony DiNozzo, was an agent for a government security group. He was cocky and funny, very good at being an agent and very endearing. He was the part of the show I enjoyed alot
