Re: John Mayer - Born & Raised 5/22/12

So the album leaked, and I'm giving it a listen right now. About 3/4 the way through.

Either it's the multi-year wait between Battle Studies and this album, or this album is really produced that good. Don Was might be a God. This album might be better than Continuum, I can't tell unless I can listen to it 3,000 times and never tire of it.

Queen of California is catchy and totally unlike any song he's ever done before. It totally feels almost entirely country. Love it.

And "Love Is A Verb" sounds like it is a B-side from Continuum. Same singing tone, same styling, production sound...recorded in same studio too in LA too.

John Mayer will be featured in some tracks on Frank Ocean's commercial debut album.

Mrs. Mo likes it, but says it's not as good as Battle Studies nor Continuum. I haven't really given it a solid listen yet.

Re: John Mayer - Born & Raised

It's up there with Continuum for me, and way better than Battle Studies, at least for me.

Whenever I listen to Battle Studies I can't help but think of how dark and bleak all the songs sound. I don't think he was going through a good period of his life during that album.
