Jesus H Christ!

My Dodgers have lost 12 of 13, and 8 straight. Our lead in the NL-West is down to 10 games.

This season can't be over sooner enough.

Re: The Official Baseball Thread

Despite the D-Bags impressive winning percentage, i don't think Da Bums have much to worry about from Arizona. The Cubs are getting healthy at the right time, and their rotation is solid, with B+ defense and some fine wood, but their pen isn't what it was last year.

This is a fine time for L.A. (NL) to slump a little. They need to get it out of their system, so to speak, and it's better for them now, with a good lead to lean on, and still enough time to get back on track before the playoffs.

The real threat to the Dodgers in the N.L is D.C; and might not be a big threat unless Bryce gets back in time to be playoff ready.

That Marlin team has been fun to watch this year. Esposito is a freaking MONSTER, too bad they'll likely lose him after this year. Too bad for them and anybody who winds up playing against him in their division.

____

The AL has been getting interesting too. The Yankees managed to close the gap with the Red Sox a little with that 4 game set, but are still 4 back. The remaining schedules are pretty similar for both franchises, with the Sox having a slight advantage in quality of remaining opponents but NYY having a slight advantage in more home games remaining. Looks like both are headed to the post-season though.

Cleveland is cruising to another divisional title, and Houston skipped a step or two lately, but are likewise cruising to the divisional title.

The AL WC races are interesting though. TBC's Mariners are a 1/2 game under .500 but still have a shot, only three games behind Minnesota, with the Angels in the middle.

I think Cleveland is headed back to the big dance, but i wouldn't bet on the Cubs to go back this year. If Harper comes back healthy in time, the Nats should be going, if not, the Dodgers. But of course, damned near anything can happen in this crazy time, so only time will tell.

The Yankees have enough quality starters, a fine bullpen, and mostly pretty solid defense. If they can get back to producing offense consistently, i think they stand a chance in a best-of-7 against any other team in the majors with the possible exception of a fully-healthy DC club.

Re: The Official Baseball Thread

Indians ahead 3 -1 in the second. Going for their 21st consecutive victory.

Indians ahead 4-1 in the third. Tigers catcher and skipper thrown out of the for arguing with home plate ump over borderline pitch called a ball. Replay showed the pitch just off the plate. Moments later the ump was nailed by a foul ball and was felled to the turf. Divine justice? Anyway bases loaded with two outs. Diaz at the plate. 3-2. Lined out to the left fielder. Not a blow out yet.

Hope they get to 26 and put all question of what the official record is to rest.

But if the streak stops here, not bad. Would have to go back to the thirties to match it.
