The ring Abel was playing with at the end said SON. My take is that is symbolism that he does escape the cycle and will never be one of the SONS, but will just be a son.

That is a big stretch, but I spent the last few years praying for some kind of hope for
the kids. Since we can interpret things how we choose about the future, that's how
I choose to see the future for Abel. It gives me some sense of peace I really wanted
after the despair and misery I spent the past 7 years watching.
I noticed the difference in the rings too. I was vacillating between your interpretation or the idea that it pointed to Abel still being tied to the club.

I like your view better.

Paris Barclay said (in an interview I heard) that the limp was just because Charlie had an injury and couldn't help limping some. So, it wasn't scripted.

I finally got to see this last night. I am satisfied with the ending, but I am feeling somewhat underwhelmed. It was good to see those white sneakers thrown into the trash and replaced by black boots. Were they, all along, a symbol to Jax of what he thought he could be?

Yes, absolutely.. till the end when he accepted what he really was.

I always wondered about those bright, white shoes. I took it to be the symbolic equivalent of a white horse (the "good guys" ride white horses). When he finally realized that he was not one of the "good guys," they were discarded, so I think that may have been part of the symbolism.

I thought the finale could have been better for how good the show was

A powerful drama dealing with many unpleasant topics - from gun running to vigilante justice. I haven't seen anything quite like it on television in years.

Welcome to the forum, adrainsmith. I agree, this is one of my all time favorite shows. Who is your favorite character?

I haven't seen anything like it on television ever. What older shows would you compare it to, adriansmith?
