7 crows. Could be 1 for each of the remaining members or 1 for each member who has died throughout all the seasons.

I thought the finale was OK.

Sutter lost me a long time ago, so I was just tuning in to see how it all played out. He lost me gradually until he totally botched the writing with Opie. Opie would have killed Clay in the circumstances as written and Sutter lost me for good at that point. It was clear that Sutter would do anything to keep Clay alive at that point in the story and that Opie killing him wouldn't be poetic enough as he was saving him for Jax

I also think it's clear that Sutter wants to make music videos as he's overused that device for years. In the end only Tig remained a compelling character.

Re: Sons of Anarchy: Season 7 Episode 13: "Papa's Goods"

The whole bread and wine thing really irritated me. Jax is not Jesus. I get that he was sacrificing himself for the club, but come on. And they had to pull in tight to the shot just to make sure we all got it.

Then the bread appears on the side of the road at the end?

I'm ranting more than usual about any show, so I guess Sutter got to me, in the end...but here's another thing - what about the poor truck driver? I thought Jax would drive off a cliff. Fine.

Again, I get the symbolism in the choice. But now the innocent truck driver (assuming he didn't die in a wreck trying not to hit a biker) will have that image in his mind forever.

Was that the same truck driver that Gemma spoke with?

Yes..Michael Chicklis, Sutter's old buddy from The Shield. Sutter said in the
afterward program that as he was writing the scene he imagined that it was
the meeting of Gemma that caused him to be there on that road at that time
for the fateful encounter with Jax.

BTW, Warty, I don't think I have seen it posted, but we're all thinking it. You were pretty damned on target with your prediction of the way Jax went out.

Re: Sons of Anarchy: Season 7 Episode 13: "Papa's Goods"

Thanks... I get lucky every now and then.

I was slightly off base when I guessed he would do it to prevent the club from having to make the Mr. Mayhem vote, but the main idea was right; it prevented them from having to execute the results of the mayhem vote.

That one came to me the moment I saw them twice include scenes earlier in the season showing that bike getting repaired. It seemed sort of odd to just have that bike where it was and to show it more than once.. sort of like it was placed there for a reason.... something more than just happenstance.

Having already figured out that the series just about had to end with Jax dead, I just added up 2 and 2. (Knowing the series ended with Jax dead happened when I had an epiphany about the show being about an inability to overcome "who we are" instead of doing the opposite)

I didn't think Sutter would have him go out in some overly cliche' shootout with the cops or anything like that.

Yep, well done. I said before that the end was predictable, but I just meant after ep 12 that we knew Jax would die. You got most of the details right. In fact there was a moment when I thought he was going to circle back and run in to the wall with JT's graffiti on it. I think that's an alternate ending for the DVD - Jax missing the truck and heading for the wall while screaming "Warty!!!".

Actually, I had forgotten that JT ran into a truck and misremembered that he had hit the rock.

The goal though was to convey it was the same way his dad went out.

There was something else I noticed in the finale' that I wanted to point out, but I need to re-watch the scene.
