Re: Ness First-Watch : Deadwood

Thoughts on ep 2. Bullock and Wild Bill definitely are definitely kindred spirits. They will end up teaming up on something.

Al (who should not be considered british) is not someone to be trifled with, but Doc doesnt care. Hes going to go right on ahead and do it anyway.

Love the scene with Jane and Bills other friend singing row your boat with the little girl.

Still think Al and Jane are the most interesting, but the doc has risen a few notches for sure.

Trixie may become interesting but so far she just seemes a little bat shit.

Re: Ness First-Watch : Deadwood

Not even a little surprised that the rich dude ended up dead. I am curious to see how the wife reacts though.

Yeah, that was a big shocker for me, too.

for me the golden age of HBO is when they had most of these shows on at the same time: Rome, Deadwood, Carnivale, The Sopranos and The Wire

yeah I was genuinely bummed out by that. But he was such a strong character that in the end it was likely best for the show's other characters. It definitely helps several characters grow

The actor did a great job on two of Dexter's good seasons after this as well as a minor role on Fargo.

Re: Ness First-Watch : Deadwood

Still pluggng away at this. Its definitely a quality show (HBO always is). But Im really not sure that I'll be able to get past the genre.

Did I mention that I really effing hate Westerns? Like, if theres not heavy sci fi mixed in (think Firefly and Westworld) I dont think Ive ever been able to sit all the way througj a western before. It'll be interesting to see if Deadwood ends up being the exception.

Re: Ness First-Watch : Deadwood

It's the only "straight" Western I've ever watched.

So, it was the exception for me.
