Re: The Catch - ABC Thursday

The chemistry between our lead characters is unmistakable. Great casting job, hiring Mireille Enos and Peter Krause, to play Alice and Ben.

But everyone in the cast is beautiful. We've got Rose Rollins, playing Alice's best friend and partner, Valerie. The stunning Sonya Walger, as Margot.

I'm pretty sure everyone in the thread is curious to know, is everyone in Los Angeles this beautiful? The answer is, yes we are.

Ben and Margot are still trying to come up with the money to pay their benefactors. They come up with an idea to rob a South american dignitary of a priceless piece of jewelry. They even contract the services of Felicity, the assassin sent to kill or collect.

It seems Ben has broke into Alice's house again. He's again, hung the painting and after he calls Alice, he informs her Agt. Dao has planted a surveillance device at her house.

Finding the device, she tells Ben she'd like to see him. She also quizzes him on his next job. Guessing what it might be, she puts her own plan into motion.

Valerie has also found out something is going on with her partner. Alice comes clean, sort of, and tells her she's working with Agt. Dao. She's hurt, but understands why she needs to know why she was such a "mark" for the con.

Alice while going through possible scenarios, realizes what Ben's up to. The scene of him trying to get away from other robbery-teams was hilarious. Especially when he's shot, and rolls in front of Alice's car. "Hurry, get in!"

She takes him home to tend to his wound, and one thing leads to another, and they end up making passionate love. He gets up early and leaves, calling her on the phone when he's clear.

Looking for the bracelet while talking to Alice, he realizes she's taken it. "Now you'll have to deal with me in the future."

I'm really enjoying this series. Yeah, I recognize every street corner, but I also love the cast. Especially our lead characters.

I'm impressed that Ben went through with the theft -- he saw all of them with their guns and he knew what he had to do to get away. 007 would have been proud.

The down side to Alice driving the getaway car -- the other thieves and would-be killers have her license plate number and it won't be long before they show up at her doorstep. Hopefully Agent Dao has her under surveillance when they do.

Imagine what's going through Ben's mind now. The bracelet represents settling their debt and stopping a bullet meant for his head. In addition, Alice having the bracelet puts her in harm's way.

I think that's enough to give Ben a heart attack.

You know, I'd forgotten about the guy getting her license number. They're definitely going to come for her, but I see Ben coming to her rescue. Isn't love grand? Where's Abcdxyz and Brdmom?

Re: The Catch - ABC Thursday

The weekly investigation -- I knew it was her brother all along, who BTW was played by Tory Kittles, who you might recognize as Broussard from Colony. The best part of that story was the girl they were helping having a fling with Danny and raising some jealousy in Sophie, the girl Danny really wants. Now she knows how he feels.

Alice
Sometimes I think she's a moron and other times -- brilliant. Alice steals the bracelet from Ben and sets in motion a wave of violence and puts Ben with a gun at his head. Alice is skeptical about Ben's life being on the line. Maybe she has a right to be but you just don't do that if you love someone.

Things we learned:
  • "The Benefactor" is none other than Margo's brother! Played by the wonderful John Simm who I remember most from Doctor Who as the brilliant Master! Hodge, you might recall him from that recent series Prey. Simm played the detective accused of murdering his wife and child.
  • Ben was The Benefactor's partner before defecting with Margo, The Benefactor's sister. I hope they do a flashback episode about that. I would love to see how all that came about.
  • The Benefactor's gun was the gun used in the killing that Dao is pursuing -- that woman in France (at least I think it was France). You know what that means.

I thought it was the first guy at the bar.

The female Ranger is Samira Wiley, who plays, Poussey in Orange is the New Black. She's also a Lesbian in real life. So, playing a girl having multiple flings with guys is a stretch.

Boy, you and Abcdxyz. She's a girl in love!

I don't want her to become another member of Ben's Team. Helping him get from under his debt, is one thing, but lets not make it a habit.

Now, we've got Valerie liking Agt. Dao. What's up with that? Man, she's a stunning beauty too. Tall, leggy!

I finally figured out who Mireille Enos (Alice Vaughan) reminded of. Julianne Moore. They're both true red-heads, with pale-skin.

We didn't have enough info to speculate who this Benefactor could be, but finding out it was Margot's brother was strange.

Then we find out, he's a psychopath! At the end of the episode, we shoots and kills his girlfriend and Team assassin, Felicity.

Oh, and I do remember him from the recently completed, Prey.

I will say, before seeing what kind of man the Benefactor was, I thought it was a surprise the gun was the same. But, after he put two holes in the back of the guy from the other con-team, then he killed his own girlfriend, it doesn't surprise me in the least. And, it's obvious now, why Ben left him.

Re: The Catch - ABC Thursday

For the first time since they've reconnected, Alice wakes up with Ben still laying next to her. Have they gotten past what each one does for a living? Has Alice forgiven him for stealing her money and dignity? He does ask her for the second time to run away with him, but she realizes, the bad guys would never leave them alone.

Back at their hotel, Rhys is looking into who is Alice Vaughn. Ben walks in, and Rhys tells him about a new con he's come up with. It seems a really rich wine entrepreneur has a thing for gambling. His game of choice, poker. Margot and Ben agree to help, but only if Margot is allowed to lead the con. Rhys agrees, and they start putting their plan together.

Procedural portion of the episode centered around a divorced video game tycoon's son whose missing. He hires Anderson, Vaughan, & Associates to bring his son back alive. It seems the son has run away, because he can't see his mother and his father is to busy to spend any time with him.

I comes to light, that Joey's mother hired individuals to take the boy and place him in an underground system that helps displaced parents.

Re: The Catch - ABC Thursday

Cant' believe Margot is posing as Alice's psychiatrist. She's getting all the dope on her feelings for Ben, and vice-versa. When Alice told Margot, Ben told her he loved her, I thought she was going to forget about her role and start a . Then she revealed she was still sleeping with Ben. I thought Margot was going to use the pin she was writing with as a lethal weapon.

Ben, on the other hand, is trying to separate the individual camps. He proposed that Rhys that he'd come back on board if he'd go back to London. He thought it would be a good idea for Margot to takeover the New York area. He even tells Rhys, he'd be willing to convince Reggie to come back as well.

The procedural portion of the episode involves the guys saving a woman whose under protection by the Marshal's. It seems, she's a master counterfeiter and Rhys wants her working for the Kensington crime firm. Ben's on board and he brings Reggie in on the deal too.

Over on the good guys’ side, Alice and friends have agreed to help Kelsey, an old friend and bandmate of Sophie’s, out of a bad recording contract. Anyway, the team finds out that the head of Kelsey’s label, Nathan, has been filming his artists having sex in order to release the tapes and garner media attention, which he’s planning to do to Kelsey.

Later in the episode, we find out Kelsey's boyfriend and sexmate, is only 17, so Nathan is arrested for child pornography. Serves him right, although Kelsey's song is a big hit.

Ben, Rhys and Reggie find out Leah refuses to come work for Kensington if they don't also save her pet dog. They decide to steal the dog from the kennel, but instead of bringing the dog to Leah, they hold the dog hostage until she agrees to their terms.

At the end of the episode, Alice comes home to find Ben standing in her living room, but before she can tell him to get out, she also sees Agt. Dao. It seems Ben is willing to help Dao bring down the Kensington group.

Rhys tells Margot he's going to call mommie to help separate her two children. I've got a funny feeling who mommie could be.
Spoiler: Mommie
Joan Collins
