Re: Suits - USA Wednesday

Looks like the Team has withstood another crisis, with all hands on deck.

Donna is still a part of the Board, although she doesn't feel she deserves it.

Mike and Rachel have decided to set a date for the wedding, but move at a slower pace.

Dulé Hill has joined the cast as Alex Williams. He's also joined the Board of Directors. In this last episode, he really paid his dues when he got the other law firm to back off from pilfering Harvey and the gangs clients.

Re: Suits - USA Wednesday

Always enjoy watching Harvey and Mike together in court . This is definitely going to be a tough case because Harvey always moves closer to that line you don't cross.

I remember that episode where Louis took Donna to a place she almost didn't return from. He'll have to take her there again if they want to win this case.

It was also nice seeing Rachel working with her father. I was a little apprehensive at first, but we found out in this case, this touches home for her father.

Gretchen sure knows how to control Louis when he off. Which happens more than it should with what's going on in his life ever since Sheila went her own way.

Re: Suits - USA Wednesday

Over all I like the show. But certain things about it bug me. My pet peeve with Hollywood is the way writers overplay their hand when creating conflict and tension.
One of the main devices they use is creating putatively sane, responsible characters who cannot manage their emotions.
For example Louis Litt routinely undergoes spasms of angry, histrionic displays which so overwhelm him that he loses control of his rational faculties.
Mike Ross was caught practicing law without a license and went to prison. Through the miracle of television Mike is now a licensed attorney back working back at Person Spector and Litt. On his first case back at the firm Mike commits willful omission by intentionally failing to tell his client that he is a felon who served time for practicing law without a license. That omission gave his client legal grounds to sue Mike and the law firm. Mike's response to the client was "I didn't mention it because I didn't think it was relevant to the case". If that is true then the boy genius really doesn't understand law at all. The client didn't sue because Mike worked an out of court settlement.
It's necessary to suspend disbelief in order to accept the story. This is necessary for most TV shows and movies. To make them exciting so they hold your interest they stretch the bounds of reality. In fantasy shows, comedies, and action movies they stretch pretty far, and that is expected.
But in dramas when they stretch too far the show lacks verimilitude. Viewers can't relate the show to their own experience of reality enough for it to make sense.

But the characters in Suits are interesting, there are several story arcs ongoing most of the time, so the show holds my interest fairly well.
