Post Gertie in Verse: So I Slapped It

The following was originally submitted by gertie here. I enjoyed it so much that I stripped it of its prose and reworked it into verse.

Bear in the Woods

She could so scare me
And I don't mean meeting
A bear in the woods
Scary
Downright scary
Not even a ghost
In the middle of the night
Scary

Odd-Looking Hangers

Yep
Don’t know why
I helped put my ex
Husband
Through vet school
I got to peel skin
Off dogs and cows
Horses were hung
From odd-looking hangers
The refrigerators had all
Kinds of animals
Waiting for the next
Phase
Even witnessed
Old Diamond (elephant)
Get necropsied
Weird

And English English

I do that too
But my head doesn’t sound
Like I sound
Sense?
I’ve been so many places
That things get mixed up
I’m a Southerner
But not
An Easterner
But not
An American
But not
I speak perfect German
And French
And English English
In my head
I know I speak perfect
American English
Just know it
Now tell me I’m scary
Or missing again?

The ad at the bottom of this post said, simply "Extremely Powerful and Incredibly Moving."

I agree.

Funnier or Funnier

Is this,
Funnier or funnier?
Or funnier than that?

I think
My favorites to date
Would be
Crandymany
Or LostVluglag]]].

Actually,
You couldn't guess.
