Re: What's New/Mini LTV

But his color just recently changed? Right?

I read about a woman saving herself by hiding in trees in the Congo.

Reminded me very much of Helen and Mac, aunt and uncle as if I thought you should know, but then realized HUH?, living in Pakistan (he was some sort of thingamabob) and rioters and killers were nearly at their door. They escaped out the back and hid in a river, crawled through the river for days, and made it.

They, of, course, recovered from their ordeal (it was horrific).

They then lived for 20+ years in the Philippines. They moved back to the states (Berea, KY where Mac was a professor, Helen was a curator of the local weave center (I don't know if it still exists).

Helen was basically Dad's sister. Helen's Mom, Mary, had to raise him with her own after Dad's mom died of brain cancer. So they were close.

Helen and Mac saved their servants. That may sound pretentious, but that's the way it was. So many people needed some sort of income and to work inside a home was a relief for them.

Two came back to the states with my aunt and uncle, had children of their own, and all are American citizens. And believe the truth, they adored Helen and Mac, and are so grateful.

As it turns out, having 7 extra people in the house is a bit stressful. And very, very loud.

Re: What's New/Mini LTV

Also, yesterday we were at this lake and we didn't have the right sticker to park in the lot. A few cars were parked along the road (I use the word road loosly here, as it's just woods and brush on either side).

I asked the attendants if we could park with those cars and they said "at your own risk, you may get towed".

We parked there and it was fine. But also we noticed there was not ONE sign posted that said "No Parking". Or "Tow Zone".

My sister says they can't legally tow you if there is no sign posted. True?

Oh, sure. And you can totally kill a guy if there's no "No Murder" sign.

I feel like there is a logic problem with that comparison, but I'm too overwhelmed to figure it out

Re: What's New/Mini LTV

signs like that are merely suggestions.

Even if they mean it... first, there are other cars there so it's not like you stick out like a sore thumb.

Second... someone has to come along who cares.

Then they have to care enough to go looking for stickers on each car..

Then finding yours, they have to call a tow truck..

Then there is whatever time needed for the tow truck to get out there, and I doubt they have a wrecker service completely at their disposal, and their disposal alone.

So chances are slim to non anything is going to happen.

Unless of course you are slapped with some sort of ticket and a subsequent summons in which case we will mock you incessantly... but really.. what are the chances of that??

Re: What's New/Mini LTV

the chances of that happening to most people would be slim.

Me, however...

In other news, I sent everyone to the beach and took a nap. I feel much better. The chaos and indecision was getting to me. From now on, I'm making the plans and that's what we're doing, period.

I would take it so far that there would be assigned seating at dinner.

Re: What's New/Mini LTV

Maybe I will.

Speaking of dinner, last night my son ordered a type of pizza I didn't know existed. I felt ridiculous asking for it when I placed the order, and the guy on the phone was like "um...I'll ask" and then he came back and said "what do you know, we do make that now".

Anyone want to venture a guess?
