I am considering checking this out because I like the 2 leads. If it is not good I will be highly disappointed because these 2 lead actors are deserving of a really good show. Peter Krause - loved him in Six Feet Under, and Mireille Enos - was awesome in The Killing .

Hodge, why is this name familiar to me? What other shows is she involved with?

I'm glad you asked:

1. Grey's Anatomy

2. How to Get Away with Murder

3. Scandal

4. Private Practice (cancelled)

5. The Catch

ETA: I've mentioned this in another thread. Shonda Rhimes (Shondaland) is the first Executive Producer to control a complete network's primetime evening. That's Thursday on ABC!

Well, I was going to pass on this, but I know someone who loves Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder. That coupled with The Ricksters knowledge of the two leads has tempted me to at least give it my normal 3 episodes, so I'm in.

Re: The Catch - ABC Thursday

I do like How To Get Away With Murder, the other Shonda ones I have not seen.

The lead actress in The Catch has been in The Killing (TV) and World War Z (underutilized in that movie) . Also, she was in Big Love - I have not seen that series and If I Stay (movie, I have not seen either). Other than that her IMBd page looks mostly like guest appearances on story of the week type TV.

Fun fact - well at least I think so. She is married to Alan Ruck - who is the actor that played Ferris Buellers best friend Cameron in Ferris Buellers Day off.
Alan Ruck has had other roles , but I like him best as weird, lost Cameron. Okay, I wiil quit being a nerd now.

The Ricksters
I watched the second season of The Killing but I wasn't connecting Mireille Enos to anyone in it. Then suddenly last night, it dawned on me that she played the somewhat homely and dowdy female lead detective. What a transformation! Clothes do make the man or woman in this case.

Mireille is a phenomenal actress -- so now that the connection is made, I am looking forward to this one.

Re: The Catch - ABC Thursday

The Premiere wasn't bad at all.

It seems, Alice Vaughn has it all. A partnership in one of the best private investigation firms in Los Angeles, and an impending marriage to a successful Venture Capitalist.

She's involved in a case where someone is trying to gain info on all of her companies clients.

While staking out an art gallery for a possible thief, she catches a guy trying to steal a valuable painting. One down, but the elusive, Mister X, still seems to be one step ahead of her Team.

In her usual style, Shonda Rhimes has put together another slick series. Beautiful people, dressed as beautiful people only know how to dress. Seriously, great wardrobe designer.

Back at the firm the next morning, Val, also a partner, forces Alice to sample cakes for her impending nuptials. Alice also shows Val her wedding dress. Everything is moving toward the big day.

Later that evening, when she arrives home, we meet her fiance, Benjamin Jones taking a shower. We also learn this is the same guy involved with a heist at another firm under the auspices of Alice and Val's company.

Alice gives Benjamin a check for $1.4Mil for a house they plan on buying, "I want to be a partner in this marriage." Of course Ben would rather buy the house himself. Yeah, right!

But something strange happens. Benjamin tries to convince Alice to run away with him, forget about the big wedding, and elope. "We can go anywhere you want. We never have to be found". This is real strange for a con-man to say to his mark. She tells him they can't do that. Plus, she's involved in this big case.

The next day, Benjamin Jones disappears. I mean, totally disappears. A friend of his goes through Alice's house and removes any trace of his existence. His own house, is completely gutted of furniture and belongings. She heads to his firm, and also finds it completely empty. She comes to the conclusion, her fiance, is also Mr. X.

I liked the Pilot. Curious to see how the cat-and-mouse chase is going to continue. I'll be watching.
