Re: Scandal - ABC Thursday

I just started watching The Good Wife, and I didn't realize it was the pre-show for Scandal! I just watched a Season 1 episode that had Fitz as a judge, Sally Langston as the Chief Justice and Rowan Pope as Chris Noth's attorney! I guess Shonda Rhimes was a fan.

Re: Scandal - ABC Thursday

After watching the S6 opener, I feel that this has gotten so stupid that I'm not sure I can watch it anymore.

You know Abcdxyz, everything was going great until the assassination.

I didn't care who won, I was even expecting Fitz to hold onto the job. But, the assassination.

TPTB didn't even give Cyrus a fighting chance. Any smart person would wait a few months. Even a year, then kill him, but having it done as the guy was accepting the win. Nah!

One more thing...When did Charlie start working for Pope & Associates? Or, was he just helping during Mellie's run for President?

Re: Scandal - ABC Thursday

It wasn't just the assassination. It was what happened next.
POTUS: Gee, Attorney General, who will be president now?
AG: Well, Mr. President, I dunno! I guess you'll have to decide!
Then the whole thing descended into a clustermess, with Fitz running around asking Mellie if she REALLY, REALLY wanted to be president, then deciding on Cyrus Beene instead because, well, why not.

No thought that there would be an orderly process of sending the decision through the courts, which are the bodies charged with deciding what is legal. Did they all play hooky on the day that their civics classes taught that we have a government of laws, not men?

Furthermore, I have a suspicion that Jake might have been involved in the shooting. He disappeared that night, didn't he? And how did the woman who called the tip line know that it was Cyrus who killed the president-elect? The shots were fired by somebody else, after all.

That was my initial thought as well.

But, then I asked myself, what would he have to gain? And, because he was on Mellie's ticket not the assassinated President-elect, I thought nothing. What are your thoughts on this matter?

Now, I don't think Cyrus pulled the trigger himself, but don't forget Cyrus was having an affair with the ex-secret service guy, who was actually working for Rowan Pope's B613. And we saw he'd do anything for Cyrus.

And, there's a good chance he overheard Cyrus talking to someone about the assassination. We all know how talkative he is.

Don't forget that Jake is working for Rowan Pope, and although Rowan told Olivia that he was not involved, you know he will lie to anyone, anytime. Maybe Rowan figured that the office would fall to Mellie and then she was next. Who knows?

Abcdxyz, you make a good point.

Rowan Pope will do anything and everything to move his agenda forward. That includes lying to Olivia.

Did you see what he was working on when 'Liv paid him a visit? He was working on a dinosaur. Didn't he loose his job with the Smithsonian, when 'Liv fixed it to show he was embezzling money from the museum?

Re: Scandal - ABC Thursday

I thought there was something going on between Marcus and Mellie, I just didn't realize how far it had gone. Man-o-man!

Abcdxyz, remember when this thread was called, "Who's Quinn Perkins"? We've come a long way since then. I'm curious about her hesitation about marrying Charlie. Does she still carry a torch for Huck?

Oh, and that meeting between 'Liv and the Head of the FBI was revealing. Speaking of carrying a torch, 'Liv is still carrying one for Fitz.

I knew Cyrus was a low-down dog, but to kill a newly elected President takes a lot of nerve.

Last night's episode also made me realize why you want to stop watching. You're mad because you're so invested in "true love" ( 'Liv-Fitz), you can't stand watching and they're not locked in a warm embrace. You're such an old softy!
