the missing islets. *(an islet is a small island)

we have all seen the main map in season one.. solitary..
(notice, no islets south of the island, by the crater)

this is from when Sayid is going to steal them.. same ep.

I flopped it back and straightened it.. the bottom right one is correct (due to writing seen on the map)

then we saw more map in another episode..

Sayid had noticed when he overlapped the 3 maps, they fit together, kinda showing the location of something..

Once I realized these equations were coordinates, latitude and longitude, I assumed the French woman was trying to determine the location of the island. But it was incomplete, the notations fragmented.

But when I laid the pages down like this [Sayid lays the maps on top of each other revealing a triangle] I realized it wasn't showing the location of the island. I think it's a location on the island. Specifically, here.

Well, the map is hardly in scale, so I don't know.

We're not even sure it's a map of this island, are we?

We're not, no. But this may be the transmitter sending out the distress call. And it's power source.

This is when I noticed the oddity of "LES TROIS ILOTS" on one map..(three little islands)
and but not the other.. you can see it coming in from top frame..

the last map overlapped, is the corner from this one...

and you can clearly see the same main islet with the triangle around it..
and there are many islets shown on this map...
"les trois" around the main one.. and a few more to the south west of the island..
this whole scene is the southern/eastern side of the island..
(those who read my island thread know the frustration I've had with the side view)

And the islets don't even appear on danielles birdseye map.. see the first maps posted ^
imo TPTB had given us our first puzzle.

now this one spoke words on where the piece fit..

notice the island sticking out with the islet of its own.. ?

here is where I ended up putting the side view map..

and an earlier approach i had done kinda shows where the other islets would be, and the boat...
a shipwreck.. whos, we dont know..
not danielles.
(her's must have been the ship seen by the "premiere camp")

maybe the others have fixed it by now and used it to get walt..

it is my bet. the others are here.

the degroots others. the ones in charge. better off at least.

and now Walt has been brought here to contact the outside world using a remote viewing station.
to shut the island down from another Hanso location.
perhaps on the mainland...THE REAL WORLD< OUTSIDE THE ISLAND<?

ETA, okay this bit didnt pan out at all. It was mostly based on the rumor something happens every 4o'ish days on the island.... 10,25,06

yeah.. I think something happens every 40 days to allow the islet to become part of this lost island... not that the islet isnt lost too.. perhaps it has its own shielding. maybe its for safety, maybe not. maybe that was the problem..
when they did this electro-magnetic pole shift" :P thing.. they tried to contact the "main" islet and all heck broke loose.

In ref to your maps and having looked at them fo a few...

I think it has to do with another poster suggesting that there are more stations (like 6-7) and one of them being under water, out from where Sayid found the cable that led him to being trapped by Danielle. This poster suggested that this is the station that possibly held the children, but that would not explain the wandering youth TSS we saw at the begining of this season. But it would explain where the boat that snatched Walt might be docked.

Ooh, good idea. That would indicate more a man made island, or man-altered island of some sorts, wouldn't it? This is going to sound silly, but it makes me think of the island in "The Incredibles" where they have their bunkers, etc, under and in the island...

and underwater station ?

although I've heard that mentioned..it seems a bit difficult to swallow the others suiting up to go diving, ? how else would they get down ?

add forcing a bunch of people to dive... ??

maybe the islet leads underground somehow... caves etc..

hence walt being wet.. he hides in nearby water while hooking himself into the remote viewing machine.. mentally, cause walt IS special..
also why he says shhh... he doesnt want his captors to overhear him crying for help/

the above idea may have even more proof in the scene where Shannon and Sayid see Walt,
I swear, when he walks away to his left, I saw a light bouncing off him, as if he is a halogram and the light from the next room is shining on him..

but maybe I'm crazy and it was just production based lighting so he could be seen at all in a dark forest.

but I got the feeling he wasnt walking away through the forest, but more leaving a room (ala AL from quantum leap!)

btw the cable would be around the islet area...
sayid walked south, then around the crater..winding up by the south/east beach or perhaps the eastern side looking south..
either way, its close..

As I mentioned last night, I believe this is how Danielle knew the Others were coming --- the inlets became visible again.
When the blip appeared on the rafter's radar, the Others were headed in the direction of the island. Most likely, the inlets is where their "base" is located.

Although I'm not quite ready to accept the existence of a bathysphere, my best guess would be.......a mini-sub ??

I think Walt is using telepathy to communicate through the computer.
It's possible that he's using his abilities to transcend cyber space itself.
