Doctor Who: Series 1-4 Discussion
The new version of Doctor Who premieres tonight in the states on the Sci-Fi Channel. I have never seen the old version and I don't know if this new version is related to the old version. Can anyone from Great Britain tell me if this show is worth watching?

Re: Doctor Who
Ok, Not from great Britian; obviosley, but the new doc who is made in part with the cbc (canadian brodcast corperation) meaning that it airs here the same time it airs there. But the way all the docter Who's relate to each other (as far as I can tell) is that they are all the docters are supposed to be the same man, just in diffrent body's. Thus when the newest incarnation of Doc came out, and after one seson the actor playing the doc quit, it wasn't a big deal to replace him.
As far as weather or not it's worth watching, I personally don't like it Just because it is pun filled

Re: Doctor Who
It is good, but it feels a little forced at times. It improves midway through the season when a character called Captain Jack is introduced. I am wondering though when you will end up seeing The Christmas Invasion, I'm hoping you get it when we see the Christmas episodes of american shows. In May.

Ha-ha, I think so. I think they said that they are showing a new episode every Friday for 13 weeks in a row.

Re: Doctor Who
I had a physics teacher in high school who turned us onto the Doctor in high school when it was on PBS. It ROCKED! They used to show all the doctors from the beginning up to the guy they had before PBS couldn't afford it anymore. I don't remember all their names, but the whole "regeneration" aspect to explain the new appearance of the Doctor was ingenious.
The only problem I have with the new episodes is that the special effects are way too good for the show. Part of the appeal of that show to us was the low-grade effects. Plus, this guy even appears way too studly, not nerdy enough.
Soup!

Re: Doctor Who
I am a fan of the old show and I missed the first ep, but I'm not going to miss the next one. I just watched a music vid someone made for the new show and it was totally awesome! It sold me for sure. Here's the link:

Re: Doctor Who
I enjoyed the new "Doctor Who", something I haven't said since my favorite Doctor (Jon Pertwee). The production values were much better, the story-telling pretty good and his new travelling companion, easy on the eyes. All in all, they did a good job with the new series...

Re: Doctor Who
Sci-Fi channel actually showed the first two episodes this past Friday night. I watched them yesterday and so far, it's good. Not great but just good. I will stick around and let my DVR keep recording the show.
