Dexter

Has anyone watched this new Showtime series yet? The premiere is online.

http://tv.ign.com/articles/736/736024p1.html

Just follow the link and type in 'sneakpeek' when prompted.

I enjoyed it! I actually just re-watched it and like it even more. Really smart show. Take something like CSI and mix it up with American Psycho.

What does everyone else think?

Re: Dexter

I got interested in this show when I read a Fall Preview in the paper that mentioned it. Some of the crew that have been involved with The Shield are behind this show. A quick re-perusal on imdb turns up James Manos, Jr'sname. He wrote the great Sopranos episode 'College' and the Shield episode 'Inferno.' Sadly, I don't have Showtime.

Thanks for the tip that the premiere is online. I'll certainly watch it sometime this week. The premise also reminds me of Suspect Zero, which got some interest with hardcore LOST fans because of its 'Remote Viewing' concept (a concept that I doubt has anything to do with Dexter)

Re: Dexter

It interests me, but I too don't have Showtime. Maybe catch it on DVD if it gets good reviews. I'm mainly interested because it has David from Six Feet Under as the star and I was a big fan of that show.

Yeah, he's pretty much what makes the show good.

Re: Dexter

Awesome show. Very dark and disturbing.

I liked the background story about his foster father teaching him the tricks of the trade.

I'll make an early prediction in that I think his sister is invovled in the Ice Truck slayings (is that what they called them?).

I don't know how widespread it is, but I'm getting a free preview of Showtime this weekend.

Re: Dexter

Dexter: Witty, well done, interesting concept with darkly comedic undertones. IMO, the best new show of the season.

Re: Dexter

Thanks for the tip, sim. I'm getting the free Showtime as well.

First episode "Dexter" starts in 8 minutes, and I can catch "Crocodile" tomorrow night. If it's good enough, I might add Showtime.

Thanks again!

Re: Dexter

I wasn't sold on this show until the final 5 minutes of the first episode. That was a Great White Shark worthy hook at the end.

I've since watched episodes 2-3. I really like this show.

The opening credits sequence is insane. Spectacularly...gruesome.

I'm with you! Thanks again to whoever made me aware of the free Showtime.

I really like this show. My problem with most new series the past few years have been that I don't even remember main characters' names after an entire season. But with this show, I felt comfortable in its world by the third episode. So much fun. great show.
