Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen
June 26, 2009

Directed by: Michael Bay
Written by: Ehren Kruger & Roberto Orci

Spoiler: Description: Updated

Decepticon forces return to Earth on a mission to take Sam Witwicky prisoner, after the young hero learns the truth about the ancient origins of the Transformers. Joining the mission to protect humankind is Optimus Prime, who forms an alliance with international armies for a second epic battle.
Spoiler: Synopsis
The battle for Earth has ended but the battle for the universe has just begun. After returning to Cybertron, Starscream assumes command of the Decepticons, and has decided to return to Earth with force. The Autobots believing that peace was possible finds out that Megatron's dead body has been stolen from the US Military by Skorpinox and revives him using his own spark. Now Megatron is back seeking revenge and with Starscream and more Decepticon reinforcements on the way, the Autobots with reinforcements of their own, may have more to deal with then meets the eye.

Michael Bay is to direct again. He stated on his official website:
“Transformers 2 will be coming soon. The new robots are really really unique and there are a lot of them this time.” It’ll get here, eventually, and you’ll love it.

Surely Dinobots have to be involved at some point. I'd love to see Ultra Magnus, Hot Rod, Cup and The Quintessons. I'm also wondering whether Megatron will be brought back as Galvatron, a la the cartoon movie

Re: Transformers 2

Wouldn't believe that synopsis one bit. Michael Bay has claimed to have released fake scripts already, and will be releasing more to throw everyone off.

Re: Transformers 2

Apparently there's going to be a novel sequel too, by IDW Publishing, called The Search for Starscream. Might be interesting.

He uses fake scripts as foilers. Not so sure about the films themselves though.

Re: Transformers 2

Just read this over at superherohype.com -
Quote:
Transformers 2 director Michael Bay told Rotten Tomatoes at the Visual Effects Society awards that he's already written the sequel and will pass on his script to the screenwriters, who are coming off of the strike:

"I've been writing Transformers 2," said Bay. "We've got our characters all designed. I always write all my scripts, my movies anyway so at least I've got something to give the writers. It's like a template. We have a really good outline so I worked on that." It might be a tad unorthodox, but Bay has high pressure demands. "We had to because I want to make my date. I'm not going to let the strike take me down."

Bay also spoke to
IESB, who he assured that we won't be seeing Dinobots in the follow-up. ILM's Scott Farrar also told the site that there will be a lot more robots this time and that the animatics look amazing so far.

Transformers 2 is scheduled for a June 26, 2009 release.
Boo no dinobots.

I'm sure I'll get over it though.

Re: Transformers 2

No Dinobots

The odds are good that Shia Lebeouf will be in it. He's in every other film these days

Re: Transformers 2

Oh man.....

Transformers 2 might be filming here in Philly.

Quote:
The film industry is [an] increasingly lucrative [thing] for government to em-brace," says Pinkenson. "We already have a reputation as the most cooperative and film-friendly city in the business. Having these tax incentives adds to our attraction. Right now, we’re looking at applications for six to eight films to begin in June, and more to follow."

The not-so-top-secret list includes Remorse, Three Sistas, Shyamalan’s Avatar series, a film based on Marley and Me and possibly Transformers 2. The GPFO website (film.org) is a good gauge of its commitment to making filmmaking a collective experience while enhancing Philly’s reputation as a movie-friendly city with manageable amounts of red tape. "How to" services are offered free of charge and cover everything from hiring a police officer to getting a street closed. There are numerous resources, including screenwriting contests, a job hotline and profiles spotlighting the city’s filmmakers.
