The WOLFMAN Feb. 12th, 2010

Directed by Joe Johnston; Starring Anthony Hopkins as Sir John Talbot, Benicio Del Toro as Lawrence Talbot/The Wolfman, Hugo Weaving as Det. Aberline, and others not yet confirmed. Special Effects Makeup by Rick Baker.

In theatres on February 13, 2009

IMDB page

Now for some goodies.

Here are a couple of pics from the set of Benicio after turning back from being Wolfman - the second one has a very "Lon Chaney Jr" feel to it:

This next pic is pre Rick Baker. This shot is all Benicio. And its just creepy how insane Del Toro looks:
Spoiler: tagging for size

Now, hold on to your hats, cause EW just got sent 2 frighteningly good pics of the finished WOLF MAN from Rick Baker.
Just in case you don't wanna see, I'll put the tags on these as well:
Spoiler: tagged for size...and they're kinda scary too

I'll be seeing this one for sure.

Discuss.

Sweet! Thanks truff. Is that Christopher Lee!! awesome. The make-up looks good. Benicio + wolfman + blood & guts = happy winston.

ETA: Maybe that's not Chris Lee as he's not on the IMDB page, it sure looks liek him though.

Re: WOLF MAN (2009)

Those pics look pretty damned good, but it's been a quarter of a century and I bet Baker still can't top what he did in American Werewolf. Still, I love Benicio, Baker, and werewolfs so I'll check it out.

Re: WOLF MAN (2009)

As much as I hate horror remakes... I can't really complain here because the Wolfman has been re-made a couple of times and there can always be a new spin on it. Plus, the finished wolfman actually just looks like a scarier, updated version of the original.

Re: WOLF MAN (2009)

The trailer shown at ComicCon has made its way online. Dunno how long it'll be up though, so watch it while you can:

Looks pretty damn good so far.
I love the casting too. Brilliant.

Re: WOLF MAN (2009)

I am seeing this for sure. I just found out about it from this thread, but that doesn't matter.

Rick Baker is in a class by himself--he's just otherworldly. LPU, one of the greatest DVD extras in the history of DVD is the "Rick Baker Featurette" on the American Werewolf in London disc.

I'm there!

I'll watch it even though I hate the director.

Re: WOLF MAN (2009)

Looking forward to seeing the teaser that's supposed to be coming.

Looking back on that first picture truff posted....I always figured that was Donald Sutherland that he's pretending to attack. But that's Rick Baker himself, isn't it? Shoot, Sutherland isn't even in the movie.

What's wrong with Joe Johnson, Vitriol? The guy's lived a charmed life. Started out as a modelmaker on the Star Wars Trilogy. Handpicked by Spielberg to helm Jurassic Park III. Lucky guy.
