Abcdxyz, I didn't catch the Katie/Kate thingy.

And, as far as Carleton Cuse is concerned...haven't we all been burned more than once. I'm going to see where this is going. I will say this, if we get rat-eating, lizard looking aliens, I'll turn the channel quickly.

I ignored that to watch the Strain and that show is pretty good.

I still don't know how much blame goes to Carlton and how much goes to Damon. Damon seems to be more on the religious/spiritual end with The Leftovers. He also ruined the alien prequel, so I'm leaning towards him. The Leftovers is enjoyable, but he has said he no plans of explaining the true mysteries.

Plenty of blame to go around, if you ask me!

Re: Colony - USA Thursday

We liked the first two episodes. I'm hoping it gets better and better.

I'm with Dew on liking that they let Josh "look like Sawyer." That look suits him well, and it's a look that his fans relate to. I don't personally think that the clean-cut look suits him very well.

I liked Sarah Wayne Callies better in this than in TWD. She's not a whiner in this. I don't have a problem with her being part of the resistance, at least not at this point. It gives us a window into that world right off the bat, so we can see both sides of this conflict, and it sets up some dramatic tension in the marriage that we will likely see some repercussions from.

This is MUCH better than Intelligence. I have enjoyed the first two episodes a great deal and am looking forward to the third installment.

The Factory!

So, did whatever is on the other side have the new workers stripped and sanitized because that's the way they like their food prepared or is something else going on?

Shades of Soylent Green??? Both options are creepy.

I will have to watch this again before I comment.

The whole strip and shower thing reminded me of the Nazi death camps. So, "work makes you free"? Not exactly good taste (ouch, no pun intended, Sandi!) but at least they had the new workers in sanitation gear, not striped pajamas. (And the Nazi parallel goes along with their not allowing medication for issues like diabetes.)

Does anyone have any clues about humans having seen the Colonizers? Has Snyder? Do we even know that the Colonizers aren't human? Is there any chance that it's just speculation on the part of those colonized, or is that just 'Arlton keeping as much as possible under wraps? Though I'm sure they're not Earthlings, I think all we really know about them is that they have some great weaponry.

No, we don't. The technology involved insinuates "alien" and the fact that none of the workers have actually seen the Colonizers lends substance to that, but it bothers me that no one has seen them -- or at least no one is admitting as much.

As far as the technology, though -- do we even know what year it is on earth? Wait -- is it Earth?

I'm reminded of a Twilight Zone episode starring Agnes Morehead. She was an old woman who lived in a deserted shack. One night a miniature flying saucer lands on her roof and the teeny tiny spacemen invade her home. She fights back (even though she's scared out of her mind. Eventually she makes it onto the roof and gets a parting shot (she might have hit it with a broom -- I can't remember) at the spacecraft as it was trying to escape. The pilot made one last transmission before it crashed and exploded due to the old woman's efforts and right before it was destroyed -- we, the audience see and realize that the spacecraft is actually from Earth and the old woman was the alien living on another planet.

So, what do we know that establishes the basic facts we might be accepting too readily?

Re: Colony - USA Thursday

At the beginning of the episode, did Will turn his friend over to the CTA? Did he blame the guy for putting him in contact with the smuggler? I thought it was quite a coinky-dinky Will starts working for the "govt." and his work buddy is arrested.

The only clue we have of an occupation are the "Red Hats", and they look human.

Personally, I like it. As long as they keep us in the dark, the better I like it, just for the reasons you mention.

As far as when this takes place, I assume it's in the not to distant future. Plus, the caddy Will and Bo are driving around in is a 2015-2016.
